Davis Commons
Davis Commons is a mixed-use retail destination located at the gateway to downtown Davis, serving as a central gathering place for the community. The project is anchored by a one-acre, semi-circular park, with restaurants and retail designed to activate the surrounding open space and encourage pedestrian engagement.
Positioned at one of the city’s busiest intersections and adjacent to the UC Davis Arboretum, the property benefits from strong visibility, consistent foot traffic, and a unique connection to one of the region’s most recognized natural and educational assets. As an extension of the Arboretum, the university maintains a demonstration garden and nursery on-site, reinforcing the property’s integration of commercial, recreational, and academic uses.
Davis Commons has been recognized as a model for thoughtful urban development, blending open space with retail in a way that supports both community use and tenant performance. The project has been featured in Harvard Design Magazine and The Regional City by Peter Calthorpe.
