This mixed-use project transformed an aging industrial area into a community asset, linking Sacramento’s California State University campus with the 65th Street light rail station. The design establishes a prominent streetscape and features pedestrian and bicycle connections leading to a central plaza. The plaza’s orientation toward a main intersection, combined with the project’s panoply of retail amenities, create an active café culture that lures commuters and students alike. The second-floor residential element aims to attract urban pioneers, who favor non-traditional housing options.
